Hello everyone;
I've got a 2004 350z roadster and it is a 5-speed automatic. On several occasions I have put the petal to the metal and the car only put out about 120mph. I was wondering if this is due to the rev limiter or if there may be an issue with the injectors. Even in 4th gear the car started to slow acceleration after 110mph and I'm almost positive the car is completely stock with no mods.
Thanks

Top speed is reputed to be 157 or close to it, at least for MT's. Not sure about AT but it should be close to that. I can hit about 107 in 4th in my '03 MT, never ever attempted to find the limit, although I will admit to going faster than 4th gear redline/limiter, lol.

I've got a automatic transmission with manual shift. I've hit red-line in 3rd & 4th on a couple of occasions, and I kept wondering why the engine would cut in/out :biggrin:. It's interesting how sensitive the tach is on these cars. I wish there was a chart on the net that would give the top speed in each gear to red-line. If anyone happens to have one I would appreciate the link.

IIRC, I've seen this list. I think it was in the wiki section of this site.

The Nissan auto tranny is adaptive/learning with respect to shifting. If the previous owner babied the tranny (which you hope he did) then the tranny has learned to shift with moderate throttle input.
My Z is 5AT and rarely sees WOT. ANd never when ambient air temps are high. Take your time with the tranny and let it and the ECU get used to your driving style.
WOT early in the morning when the air is cooler.
